"Sizing Up in Flight"...

An immature Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) trying to impress an adult (left) in flight with its wingspan. Adults average 7-foot wingspans. This adult was actually chasing-off the younger eagle from its hunting grounds. Adults gain full adult plumage at around five years, which includes white head and tail feathers, yellow beak and eyes.
