"Branching Light"
The play of light, shadow and texture of this scene captivate me. Your eyes may first be drawn to the bare branches, in so much that you try to find patterns in the chaos. You may also notice the uniformity of the trees, but it doesn't detract from the chaos of the branches. One might expect the soft light and texture of the bark to conflict with the harsh, bare light on the branches, yet they seem to interplay seamlessly.
Location: central Arkansas.

"Tales in the Shadows"
If one only knew the stories this location has hidden in its shadows. Before lifting my camera, I studied this composition as if I were to paint it. I like how the natural grasses dot the foreground, while the trees and bushes surround the buildings. Each doorway has a story. The more you look, the more you see. Hope you enjoy.

The Touch of a Feather...

Flora and Fauna...
In some avian species, the male has the brighter plumage. But that doesn't preclude the female from being beautiful. Here the beautiful, female American Goldfinch posed perfectly for me amidst nature's floral arrangement.
