1957...
If you could travel back to 1957, you may just see what you see here. A room relatively untouched, the wallpaper now barely clinging to the walls, furniture still ornate with wood accents, and a like-new portable 21-inch GE television. Viewing this photograph, you may begin to realize the simplicity of family entertainment in this era. This is the front family room of my uncle's homestead near Hope, Arkansas. I also photographed this in black-and-white/infared, but like the mood of the color and sunlight coming through the window. The GE TV is the Model 21T056, which was manufactured in 1957 and sold for $178 new.
Location: Mitchell's homestead, Hope, Arkansas. Photographed Feb/2014.
Photo # KS5_4324c.

This is simply amazing, Kelly!
Hard to believe those big old T.V.s existed, but they were surely more beautiful than the ones we have today. I remember my grandparents' television. The wood cabinet it was in was gorgeous.
Have a wonderful weekend!
