Near Twin Rivers Park Bridge, Little Rock, AR.
This was somewhat of a compositional challenge. Converging lines are everywhere! (ha)

"Open and Shut"
There are so many interpretations of this photograph, it was tough to title it. The one that I wanted to relay is 'risk and reward'. We often have to open ourselves up to exposure, in order to reap the benefits (ie: the sun, etc). If we stay closed-up, we'll not be able to shine to the world.
I composed this as the last beam of sunlight fell across the petals. Did I mention I was eaten alive by mosquitos? :)
Hope you enjoy.

male Fence Lizard - amazing colors...
The male Northern Fence Lizard (common in Arkansas). Males have the stunning blue throat and belly patches. Females are smaller and have very little color beneath. Its diet consists of arthropods, a family of animals that includes insects, arachnids, millipedes and wasps.
You may find the pose a little odd, with it's head and tail up. I photographed the lizard on a tree, so the angle of the photo is actually vertical, but for display, I've found horizontal to be more interesting. Orig # KS1_7988-8001.
