"Mushroom Shield"...

With all the rain and humidity lately, I've had opportunities abound to photograph many varieties of mushrooms. This set of mushrooms caught my eye with all of the texture, shapes and juxtaposition.

"Bell of Mushrooms"

When it rains in the summer, mushrooms abound. This one caught my attention with the wonderful, muted colors.

"Brothers", Study 1...

Here's one of multiple sequences of photographing these brothers sharing an afternoon grazing.
This is one of my favorites of the time spent with them so far.

"Special Moments"...

Occasionally, one is able to experience a moment in nature and you have one second to capture it. This was one of those special moments. I only have this one frame where the fawn greets her mother. The mother has twins, the other fawn was out of frame.

"Asia for a Day"...

This Asiatic dayflower (Commelina communis) is a herbaceous annual plant in the dayflower family. It gets its name because the blooms last for only one day. It is native throughout much of East Asia and northern parts of Southeast Asia. In China it is used as a medicinal herb with febrifugal, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and diuretic effects. Additionally, it is also used for treating sore throats and tonsillitis. Recent pharmacological investigations have revealed that the Asiatic dayflower contains at least five active compounds.
I was surprised to find these growing wild near my home in Conway.
