"Tan-striped"...
Running through the fresh snow, this White-throated Sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis) is the tan-striped morph. Notice the broad eyebrow, behind the eye, is tan, not white.
The White-throated Sparrow comes in two color forms: white-crowned and tan-crowned. The two forms are genetically determined, and they persist because individuals usually mate with a bird of the opposite morph. Males of both color types prefer females with white stripes, but both kinds of females prefer tan-striped males.

"Contrast and Shadow"...
For some, reeds and flowers come and go. Yet, when you add snow and soft sunlight, you have an impressive mix of high contrast and soft shadows. The sun was setting late afternoon but was softened by the high clouds of the oncoming winter storm. If you look closely, you can see the long, soft shadows of the reeds and flowers flowing to the left. It's not often that I'm able to mix high contrast, texture, and soft shadows into a single photograph.

"Paths of Change"...
Even though the water from these waterfalls all came from the same source, they each made their own path resulting in their own unique result in the world. The same applies to each of us. We may all come from the same DNA, but each of us has our own life experiences, based on our own paths in life, which shape our results in this world. Best wishes to your results as you find your own path.

"Through the Trees"...
While creating some abstract work, I didn't notice the light coming from the other side of the trees until I viewed these results.
