"A House with a View"...

I photographed this homestead last year, just days before it fully collapsed. Imagine standing on this hilltop, admiring this view, choosing it as the place to build your home and building the house of your dreams. The view is incredible. What you first see is actually the back of the house. The front of the house had already fallen, as you can see at the right-front corner. Notice the great stonework on the chimney, and especially the amazing, intricate woodwork that is above each doorway and window. I'll post more photos as I get time to edit them. Hope you enjoy.

fyi - If you want to see the front of this house, I posted a photograph in August of last year, here: www.flickr.com/photos/kellyshipp/9463535070/in/set-721576...

Built by Jim Burk around 1910-1920.
Location: near Kingston, Arkansas (Madison County).
Photo # IM3_1873-81hbws.

How beautiful this is, and I am so glad that you were able to photograph it before it collapsed. It was actually just Friday, that I went back to re-photograph an old "broken" house that I love, but I was too late. It looked like it had burned, and then collapsed. :-(
