"Ring around the Moon"

The smaller, planetary object to the lower-left of the moon is Jupiter.
Some of you may had noticed a wide ring around the moon before the snow came at Christmas. Halos around the moon happen when high, thin cirrus clouds are drifting high above you. Tiny ice crystals in the atmosphere cause the halos by refracting and reflecting the light. Lunar halos are signs that storms are nearby.
