"Glistening Grace"...

A Great Egret (Ardea alba) takes to flight as if orchestrating a choir. These birds are large, white, patient and graceful. Fish are their mainstay diet, but often will dine on amphibians, reptiles and even mice. In the 19th century, due to plume hunters satisfying the fashion trade, their population plummeted by over 90 percent. Today, they represent conservation and their numbers are increasing. The Great Egret is the symbol of the National Audubon Society. If you study this print closely, you can see a few water droplets falling from the tips of the feathers. Hope you enjoy.
