What's unique about this still photograph is that the rushing sound of water is removed. The waterfall and stream are silent, giving you an uninterrupted experience of this scene in it's simplicity. I hope you enjoy. Comments welcome!

We may not always see it, but there is light above the darkness. We may not see it through the storm, the rain, the mist and fog. But, if you're patient, when you see it, it can be a beautiful thing.
I watched as the rain approached me, and as I decided to photograph this scene, the upper clouds broke and the sun came through the top.

Wow. Almost 30 years ago I composed and photographed this scene of air traffic at DFW International Airport. It's the only frame I took of this scene. That's how confident I was with the result. This was shot on Kodachrome 25 slide film (my favorite), and I knew it like the back of my hand - enough to exactly predict what the exposure and aperture should be on this night scene. Night scenes are tough because of the 'light noise', which you can see floating above the more populated areas. I shot other downtown scenes, but this was my favorite of DFW traffic.
You're looking through the window of a kitchen, in an old four-room homestead in southwest Arkansas. The glow from the setting sun illuminates the upper wall of this kitchen. The door forward takes you into the second bedroom. The door on the right takes you to the family room where the only fireplace exists. I have more photos that I may share in the future, including a single dress that was hanging in a hall closet.
The kitchen is actually the largest room in the house. This is the homestead that I've photographed several times, which is located behind the old storefront (recently posted photos of).

Over a century ago, having a two-story home was not commonplace. It was a luxury. You may look at this once-grand homestead and think it only contains two stories. To speak literally, this home has many stories - to tell. You can almost see all the family members coming and going, what they were wearing and even smell something from the kitchen. Hope you enjoy.
